Question

At what age does a minor get to choose where to live in tennessee?

What is the name of your state? Tennessee : I'm 17 and I was molested from the age 9-13 by my uncle my parents didnt know it happened to me but they knew it happened to my older brother a few yesrs before i was born and still left me with him. I started dating a 21yo and we dated until may when he was charged with statatory rape (i was 17 and he was 21) and then My dad molested me and i told but i cant prove it, the investigator is my neighbor and my dads friend she filed an unruly child petition against me and making it look like i set it up but i didnt & my mother doesnt believe me. My therapist does and has agreed to let me live with her (i know i cant continue therapy with her if this happens) so how can i go about requesting to live with her? i have court wensday

18.

TN has no emancipation statute. You live at home until then, unless the court removes you (to be placed as a ward of the state).

PLEASE tell me that your papers in college are more coherent. And that you're not planning to go into education.

Please let the court know that your therapist has agreed to allow you to live with her. The court might allow you to make that move,
or it might get the ball started for her to lose her license.

A similar situation happened to me. My entire family turned its back on me. Pretty much, either tell the judge "Hey, if you don't take me out of this house, I'm going to take myself out and go lord knows where.

Or stay away from the house as much as you can. Make friends and keep them close. If you can't stay with them, let them stay with you or try to, at least. Make up excuses to stay after school.

And if all else fails, if he still tries to mess with you, catch him on camera. It may not be admissible evidence if he doesn't know, but at least it will prove you're not a liar. If you dont have a camera, borrow a friends. Or, hell, the therapist's.

And, well, good luck. My father got off, too. Oh, in court play the 'oh, poor, pitiful me' act. Don't answer any questions that get too personal and, FYI, don't get aggravated. Been there, done that. And don't take anything to comfort you. They'll say its a prop.

So, you are for warned. But most times, in cases like this, they will remove you from the home just because of the allegation. I mean how do you let someone stay in a house where they alleged that happened? Unless the judge is really mean, they won't.
