1st, Last, and Security Dilema

What is the name of your state? Florida

When I moved into my current apartment, I paid my landlord for the first month's rent, last month's rent, and a security deposit that was equal to a half month's rent. I called my landlord today to advise that I will be moving out on November 30th and that I have written notice for her advising of the same. The reason for moving is a job relocation, so there's nothing wrong with the apartment. My landlord's girlfriend advised that she would be picking the notice up on November 1st when she picks up November's rent. However, my rent for this coming month has already been paid for with the initial deposit and first month's rent. She claims that the last month's payment was more of a deposit and not to be used as final rent payment. The lease states that the security deposit cannot be used as the final month's rent, but it doesn't mention anything about the rest of the initial payment.

I don't have the money to make that double payment as well as relocate. Has anyone else dealt with this or know if it's a reasonable request by the landlord (besides the fact that she's not the one I signed the lease with)?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
