We have rented the same unit fore 18 months. We found a different place and offered to our landlord to sublease our old one. He said no that he would rent it again. We paid a $500 deposit. Does he get to keep that because we are breaking our lease. Or do we get it refunded because it is a mutual agreement.
We rent in Michigan.
