Contract Issues, please help!Hi! We're college students and we are currently leasing a house. Our friend's fraternity wants to throw a huge house party at our house, and because some of us are leaning towards no, the boys said that they will sign a contract with us. The boys are also paying us to use our house, so I guess it could constitute technically as "subleasing". However, in our contract, it says that we are not allowed to sublease or have parties. Can they use our contract with the landlord to back out of the contract that we sign with them? Thanks so much! |

| Yes, especially if you don't have the backbone to simply tell these guys "no". Gail |

Reasons: 1) YOU will be responsible for any damage that they cause. 2) The landlord WILL kick you out of the lease when (not if) he finds out. 3) You will be responsible for CRIMINAL issues (minor in possession, etc.) that will happen. 4) Why do you think they want to destroy YOUR house and not theirs?? THINK!!! 5) And YOU will be responsible for any damage that they cause (in case you missed it the first time). Easy way to avoid the untold problems.... JUST SAY NO!!! And if you still think you might do it, DEMAND a $10,000 (minimum) CASH damage deposit up front.

Why has he spent over $1.7M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

| Why in the HELL would you even consider letting a fraternity party at your rented home? Do you hate living there that much? Do you have a closet full of cash you don't know what do with and want to spend on repairs? Do you enjoy the thought of rooming in very close quarters with a sweaty felon that thinks you have a pretty mouth? I recommend against this course of action in the extreme. When asked, the only proper response would be to look this friend (the one that seems very willing to put your home and future in financial and criminal peril) dead in the eye and ask him what he is smoking... And then ask him why he doesn't want the party at HIS house?
