What is the name of your state? Georgia

My friend moved into an apartment with a woman who has not paid rent. They both signed the lease. The first month she paid a small part of the deposit but no rent. She was supposed to get a job and pay rent (that was their agreement). However, it turns out she is an alcoholic and spends her days drinking.
My friend informed the leasing office and asked if they would help him get rid of her if she continued not to pay rent. At first they agreed to take her off the lease, but now they won't. The second month, no job and no rent. The third month is approaching and he wants to go about evicting her. What is the proper procedure ? Does he have to give her 30 days or can he give her the 3 days, pay rent or quit and then file in court ? How do you properly notify someone that lives in your house ?
