What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NV

My mother (Nicole) owns a house in Las Vegas, NV. Her 19 year-old son (Peter) moved back in with her on Aug. 5, 2009. On Aug. 17, 2009 they had a verbal argument turn physical. Nicole has had multiple back/neck surgeries and was just defending herself to the best of her abilities. The police came out an assessed the situation and arrested Nicole, who was released within 15 minutes due to her medical conditions.

Peter lived with some friends and was arrested on Aug. 31, 2009 for threatening to kill his girlfriend. Nicole posted bail for him on Sept. 1, 2009. Peter moved back in with Nicole on Sept. 2, 2009 and then verbally threatened her again. Nicole called LVPD out on Sept. 3, 2009 and they did not take any action. Nicole asked if she can legally kick him out and the officers said she would need to file an eviction notice.

Peter has stayed out of the house for the most part since then, but since Nicole can't legally lock Peter out of the house she is living in fear he may come back and provoke the situation. What is the fastest way to legally keep him away from her and/or out of the house? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Police are WRONG * he is not a tenant * he should be in JAIL * she needs to stop bailing him out and change her locks!!!

He wasn't a tenant on the 3rd and he probably isn't now but if she doesn't kick him out soon he may become one.

Has Mom considered that the best place for her son is JAIL ? Revoke his bond & help get him sent to jail - she'll be safe from his violent tendencies. Why she ever bailed him out baffles me.

Thank you for all of your replies.

Peter is brain damaged and bi-polar and Nicole bailed him out of jail under the condition that he would check himself into a mental hospital. She won't put him in jail because she is worried she will completely lose him to the "bad guys" and he'll become corrupted further.
