Master Tenant wants to evict a subtenant for not paying rent, subtenant and master tenant have no sublease agreement or anything like that... Does Master tenant have to serve the subtenant with a 30-Day eviction letter?? Then go to court if subtenant doesn't leave?? Or how does the precdure go?

then there would not be a subtenant/master tenant relationship. A master/sub relationship is created when the master tenant subleases to another party where there is no contractual relationship between the sub-tenant and the master landlord.

if they are a master/sub relationship then the master must treat their tenant (the sub-tenant) as any other landlord must treat their tenant. Yes, of course they must provide a notice to quit. If the sub has lived there less than a year it is 30 days. If over a year it is 60 days. If this is a rent controlled area, the rules are different so clarify that if true.
