What is the name of your state? California
My Roommate was thrown in jail two months ago, he is now released. He agreed to find a new place to live. He refuses to sign off the lease and return the house keys. He also refuses to pay rent for the past two months. His belongings are still at my house. He will not sign off the lease until he picks up his things. He does not seem to be in a hurry to do so. Until this happens I can not get a new roommate. Is there any legal way to remove him from the lease. What is the best route to take to get the money that he owes.
