What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

I have signed a lease along with three other people in a college town that expires in June. We are graduating and will no longer be living on the property. The landlord contracted someone to begin the addition of four rooms and a parking lot to the property. The construction started today. He will be removing our back porch and the construction will take up 70% of the back yard.

We had no notice of this change until today, and still no written notice. Is this construction legal? The noise is a nuisance and the reason we signed a lease for this property was the backyard and nice porch.
