Landlord is trying to charge me for old late fees

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

My landlord threatened me over the phone to post a 72 hour pay or quit notice if I don't pay her $150 in past late fees. These would be late fees from like 3-6 months ago. I pay rent every month and have only been late a couple of times in 4 years. Is this legal?
