So I live in a house with 7 other people, an eighth is moving in soon, the land lord is not one of them. This morning someone forgot to turn off the burner to the stove. One of the other roommates saw and texted the landlord. Now the landlord said that if no one owns up to it then he is going to remove the stove altogether and change the kitchen access rules in 30 days, giving time to move out if the rules are no longer fit for us.
Is he allowed to do this? I share a room with my girlfriend and she is on the agreement. We cook to save money and we can't afford not to cook. So now we would have no means to make our food and eat. I know which roommate it is, but he won't own up to it and I don't think that my landlord will believe me if I told him who it was. So I owned up to it so we can keep the stove but I'm afraid that he will take it away anyways.
