Legal grounds for terminating a Lease

Florida

Are there any grounds for a tenant to legally terminate a lease without being obligated to pay the fees? I moved into a gated community in Florida and in a little over a year have had to file 4 separate incidents the latest 2 days ago ( a break in, attempted break in, assault and vandalism of my vehicle). I have terminated my lease because I fear for the safety of myself and my family. Am I legally obligated to pay the early termination fee or can I fight it?

Thank you.

Does the lease state if there is a break in, attempted break in, assault and vandalism of my vehicle you do not have to pay a termination fee if you want out?

Yes, there are a few occasions that allow an early termination.

You can certainly try to fight it.... but there is nothing in your post that would even suggest it would be successful. That is, unless you can PROVE to a court that the incidents happened as a direct result of some action or inaction of the property manager/owner.
