-they also said the only person who touched the dryer was the chimney sweep person that they hired. They gave us the phone number to this chimney sweep, we called them they are located in Oklahoma City and we live in Austin, Tx

Yeah, Chimney sweep. They said they hired a chimney sweep to check the fireplaces and that two people who work at the apartment complex and the chimney sweep entered the apartment, but the chimney sweep was the only person who touched the dryer.

Here are the facts:
- the dryer is brand new, six months old
- someone got shocked
-the dryer was working perfectly before maintenance came into the apartment and now it won't work at all, it's not the circuit breaker as they had already been checked
-when we moved in 6months ago, before we bought the dryer this outlet was sparking and was not working. They replaced the outlet, but we have no confirmation that they checked or replaced any wires leading to the outlet.
-the apartment complex sent us an email saying "after the shock nobody touched it and did not plug it back in due to the extremely damaged cord to to the dryer being a fire hazard"
-in the email they sent us they also say that it was running and working before they turned it off and unplugged it
-we have photograph proof that there is absolutely no damage to the cord of the dryer.
-we have asked multiple times to meet with the manager of the building, but they are refusing.
The FACT that you don't have is the answer to the question of what is actually wrong with the dryer.

Did you contact the customer service department of the dryer's manufacturer? If it's only 6 months old, it's probably still under warranty.

already spoke with the manufacturer and had someone look at it, it was an electrical surge so it is not covered under the warranty

But if the electric in the apartment is not up to code and that is the cause of why it happened and why the person was shocked, shouldn't they still be paying for the repair?

Is it not up to the grandfathered code or not up to the newest code?

How do you know?

What is wrong?
