Oregon: Eviction of Non Rent Paying Family Member

We have a family member who agreed that she and her 7 year old son would stay in a trailer home adjacent to my Father in Law’s home, rent free assuming she would care for my Father in Law. She has been in the trailer home for a little over a year now and has not cared for my father in law at all! More so she has moved her Boyfriend and his 3 children (2 girls and a boy) in to the two bedroom trailer. Two weeks ago we expressed to her that her boyfriend and children may not live there (isn’t 4 children and two adults in a 2 bedroom breaking some sort of law in itself?). Since that time she has taken no action to have her boyfriend leave, she will not return or phone calls, hangs up on us when we call, and hides in the house practically 24/7 with the shades drawn (with the 4 children!).

We want her out, now. Given that she is living there rent free on a mere verbal agreement, do we have to follow standard Tenant laws of eviction with a 30 day notice, or can we expedite it?

Ultimately, if she wants to continue living there with just her son, we would be fine. In fact that is what we hope will be the end result.What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Your free to have the owner of the home send to her a certified letter that tells her she must move out ( amount of time that meets your states laws for month to month renters who do not have a written lease) if she refuses to pick it up then leave it sealed and in original envelope when its returnd and follow it up by filing with the courts to evict based on proper notice being given to get out and tenant failure to do so. The courts can make her and her bf move.

Duh! She was living there under the agreement that she'd take care of the family member, which she didn't do. Now you're going to consider letting her continue to live there?
