owner closing trailer park out of spite

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Maine

Blueberry Ridge mobile home park in Wells Maine
http://bluetrailer.proboards49.com/index.cgi
is in the middle of suing park
owner Norman Bangs in York County Superior court for unfair park
rules and unfairly evicting tenants, in court last week he said if
he is forced to make changes he will just shut down the park and
evict everyone and turn it into a housing development. 50
homeowners will be left without a place to put their mobile
homes, some with big mortgages on them.
Where do we find help? Can we stop him from closing the park out of
spite? We're poor people without money to move our homes, some are
too old to be moved. No one in Maine will even talk to us, not the
town, the State or elected officials.

the reason that nobody will help you is because a person cannot be forced to run a business when they don't want to.

So long as he follows proper eviction procedures and does not violate any of the signed leases, he is doing nothing wrong.

the mortgages on your trailers don't matter since you will still have the mortgage after the trailers are moved somewhere else.

This happens all the time. You have to understand if you don't own your home AND the property it sits on you are at the mercy of the owner.

You could go toghether and BUY the property (although I doubt you'd like the price).

Go find yourself a peice of land where mobile homes are permitted. Buy it, move your MH there. Anything else is a battle you can't win.
