Owner now renter

What is the name of your state? Idaho

We owned our home, sold it and are now renting, briefly, from new owner/friend. At signing of "transfer of ownership" and "title" no keys were given to new owner. Now new owner is asking for keys. Since we have paid rent and have a verbal agreement to be moved out by certain date, which is less than 20 days, do we legally have to hand over a set of keys now or can we wait until we move out.

I understand the new owner/landlord has rights to come into the house but first must give notice. If that is the case, can we then just let her in. I'm worried about her accidentally leaving a door unlocked and our property being stolen.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I just want to have the security of knowing our property will be safe until we move out.

You should have turned over the keys at closing. Turn them over now. You no longer have ownership.
