Please Help Right A Great Injustice

To whom it may concern,
I am writing today to report on a gross neglect for human rights, The Flordale trailer park located at 29th SW Street Ft Lauderdale FL, 33315 is being run by a Slum lord. I am a 37 year old man and I have never seen such neglect for life in my existence.

Something must be done about this, the owner of this park, known only to me as Dominique offers low rent to trailers I don't believe he has a legal right to rent. He does this to attract the type of people that are down on their luck, such as in, the case of this letter, a family of 4 with 2 small boys ages 4 and 2.

He then refuses to fix anything in the trailers, such as holes in the walls, floors, ceilings, etc.

The family I mention above pay for a 2 bedroom trailer, and cant use the second room as it rains in there.

Then when they fall behind on rent such as the above mentioned family has, because there are certain things they have to fix, they cant let thier kids live like that, and it costs money to fix them. He then resorts to Gestapo tactics.

While I was present yesterday, Thursday January 6th, He actually came and turned off the water and electricity at this families home and then proceeded to verbally threaten the father of this family, while at most a inch away from his face,screaming like a mad man at the father, while a 4 year old and a 2 year old were underfoot.

This all occurred while we had 911 on the phone, I am a neighbor, and am very vocal about human rights, (as we all should be) and came to support them, and yes I had words with this Hitler character.

He called 911 seconds after we did, to complain about me being on his property and stood at the beginning of the park to intercept any officers who arrive, so of course they asked me to leave the premises, I find it funny, how in 1 fell swoop they removed the only person not intimidated by the owner of the park, that way he can bully the families easier, good job Ft Lauderdale Police office.

The officer would not even listen to me when I tried to explain that he did not have the correct information, he just gave me lectures about being too vocal and how it wasn't my place to interfere, and informed me he could take me to jail at any time.

Well what a shame we live in a society that is structured this way, Lets do all we can to turn a blind eye to injustice, seems we have been doing so for quite a long time.

If this above issue is not resolved, I believe it will be one of the worst injustices in history, this isn't a overseas issue, this has nothing to do with foreign terrorists, this is all happening in our back yard, I spent 3 1/2 years as infantry fighting just this type of injustice, and i get out to become a civilian just so I can live with it in my back yard ?

I think not, and I will not stop seeking justice for these poor people stuck under this horrific mans thumb, never in life.

Also the father of this family has now been fired from his job, due to the fact that this Dominique continuously called his boss and tried to bully him into giving this persons paycheck to him for his rent, and not give it to the person who completed the work.

As of today, 01-06-2006 the home they were renting has now been condemed. (this has nothing to do with wilma),and they have been told simply, that they can not live there.

Also on January 6th Dominique offered this family a deal, he would rent them a $800 down, $800 a month home, (which is $200 more than they pay now), if they kept thier mouths shut, and stopped calling the papers. He also made sure, they knew, that taking this deal would be in their best interest and would keep anything bad from happening to their kids. (his actualy words were, "Stop having the papers call me or I will kill your kids.".

So 911 was called again for the 3rd time in 2 days for the apparent threat to her children, after 6 more calls to 911 and 2 1/2 hours later they finally show up to tell her that they cannot help her until this man actually attempts to harm her children.

This is appalling in FT Lauderdale someone has to actually harm someone else before the reports will be believed ? Are we actually this stupid ?

The owner of this park actually has a criminal record for beating a tenet with a bat because he did not feel he was paid his rent in time.

I have personally contacted every news station I can and every state agency, to deal with this issue, and they all simply pass the buck, or route you to the answering machine of people who will not return your call.

We as a race, need to do the right thing, and step up to handle this issue, and not try to pass this off. If this family is actually hurt tonight, I will personally hold the FT Lauderdale Police department responsible.

Please help me to do the right thing.

Contacted 911 Multiple times, Contacted Florida Power & Light.
This monday, will try to file a restraining order, even though they have no cash.
They cant do a whole lot, they have nothing, anything that costs money is out of the question.

Since we're only getting your side of the story, I'm sure you'll understand if some people don't rush to join your crusade against the landlord.

It's obvious how passionate you are about the situation, but I feel compelled to warn you anyway that you could find yourself the subject of a lawsuit by the landlord. It's not enough, for example, to believe that he has no legal right to rent the trailers, and that he's doing it to take advantage of people down on their luck. You need proof.

Since you're not registered as the user of the electricity and water, I can understand why the respective companies won't take any action on your calls, if that's indeed what has happened.

I'm sorry, but I don't see a massive conspiracy being conducted against the family. I do see a couple of adults who need to stop letting their neighbor do their fighting for them.

This family lives in fear, I would be interested in seeing how you would react when a person with a criminal background threatened the lives of your children, However i can see that unless it was your family involved in this issue, you dont care.

Oh, I have brought this to the attention of ALL the newspapers, also every state agency I could think of, Also every church in the area, also 911/State enforcement, I was hoping i might get some extra legal Information from posting here, but i can see thats not the case, I am still compiling extra info for chanel 10 news/7 news/help me howard, I think i will mention this site too, just so they can see how people react when its not thier life / families life in the balance.

You guys just dont see, if we continue to make excuses and turn a blind eye to it, people like this will only grow in power.

He hates kids so they should all die ?

Or possibly he is introducing a new way to deal with tenets, just tell them you will kill thier kids, if they complain about thier home being uninhabitable, and keep asking for certain things to be fixed.

According to the responce I have recieved from the people in this thread, I guess thats what you belive as well, I think I will continue to do all I can to bring this to the attention of people who actually care about human life, just seems it wont happen here.

Has the tenant given written notice to the landlord for repairs? Has the tenant attempted to resolve this using FL L/T law in the event repairs are not made?

You might get some positive information if you stop berating people who have a differing opinion. Put a lid on the histrionics....hating children & wanting them to die, american terrorist, come on. Your melodramatic portrayal greatly detracts from the seriousness of the situation.

If the landlord has violated the law, have the relevant portions of the paper trail as evidence in court.

Yes, your right, I am very passionate about this topic because we have looked into doing exactly what you just stated, and have been told the total estimated cost is around 250$, so I get a lil crazy when I realise that because these people are dirt poor, they cant use the law to assist them.

Now I could be wrong about that, but I am just a regular joe, and honestly have no clue how to go about this and every person I contact about this, wants money to help fix the issue.

So I guess why I am posting here is in the hopes that someone has gone through just this type of issue and knows what to do.

If the only recourse is to pay the 250$ then this family loses, and because the landlord has tons of money, he wins.

This is why I am so passonate, because it seems as if noone cares about the human factor and just cares if they can make a buck.

I will no longer post here after today but I will check periodically to see If anyone has a better solution then making this family pay for justice.
