Problem with landlord and leaky roof

Pennsylvania- A few months ago, my husband and I noticed a leak in our roof in the bedroom, above from the bed. It had leaked a little on the bed, but wasn't bad, and the bed was old so we didn't really care. We told the landlord and a few days later we saw a man on the roof, and assumed the issue was fixed. We have not had another leak until last night, in which our new, 900 dollar bed was wet from the roof. From what I understand, the warrantee on the bed states that if the mattress is stained, the warrantee will not cover damages, even if they are unrelated to the mattress. I told my landlord this, and he said he is not responsible for damages to the bed; I feel he is because if the roof had been fixed the first time properly, this would not be an issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
