What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan
Tenant left a fridge full of stuff (obviously didn't leave the fridge itself clean) as well as a number of items and large boxes in garage. I had to pay a vendor extra money for the time to bag it all up and set out on the front curb for collection. Is this chargeable to security deposit or considered part of normal 'cleaning' - and cleaning in in my state can not be charged to security deposit. I am having to pay quite a bit to patch and repair a number of holes in the plaster - is that normal wear and tear? The lease itself says say that expenses for repairs to walls can come out of deposit, and also says expenses for removing tenant's personal belongings can come out of deposit and that premises will be returned in same condition as rented minus normal wear and tear - obviously a fridge full of old food is not same condition as rented.
