What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

I am applying for public housing, and I am a little confused by the terminology.

The documents ask to enclose copies of the driver's licenses of all the adults in my household. Copies of social security cards are also required for everyone in the household.

Currently I live with my mother and my two half-sisters.

I pay $300/mo for rent out of the $849/mo I receive from social security (I am on disability).

She receives the $300/mo from me and an additional $460/mo from child support.

My question is who should be included in my household and why?

Also, if I need to report my income as well as my mother's, how do I include the $300/mo she receives from me for rent without being redundant.

The total income flow in this household is only 1309/mo. I am afraid it could be misconstrued as $1609/mo.

Thank you for your help.

PS: I also receive $16 in food stamps. Do I include that in my income?

Because you live with your mother and two 1/2 sisters ,your mother would most likely be considered head of household ,and she would have to apply and answer the questionnaires and provided proofs of by documents requested .

You mother as a landlord is charging you rent .

I assume you also receive medical .

That's the best you'll most likely get from the Gov.,unless your mother wants to apply .

But certainly ,if you are applying yourself ,then provide the ID's,SS#'s, and income verifications for all ( via bank accounts, SS notices of income, etc ).

Why am I not my own head of household?

I pay rent and buy and cook my own food. My mother doesn't provide me with anything.

If this wasn't a family member would you also say they were the head of my household... just because I rent from them?

Why would my mother have to fill out these papers? I'm the one applying.

Also, she doesn't (and can't) claim me as a dependent.

It would make much more sense if:
I was the head of my household.
My household consisted of one adult(me) and no children. Only one dependent(myself).
My total household income (849/mo +16/mo food stamps).
No child support.

Also, I don't get medical for free. I have to pay a monthly spend down of $250 to get medical.

Perhaps you can clarify .

Are you applying for a public housing unit of your own , or are you applying while still wanting to live and pay rent at your mother's ?

I am applying for public housing for me. I would be moving out and no longer would be paying rent.

Ok . I was a bit confused .

Provide your informations only .

Have you applied at a specific rental location ?

If so speak to management , or an intake specialist to clarify what you need to provide .

Here's the definition from 24 Code of Federal Regulations 5.100:
Household, for purposes of 24 CFR part 5, subpart I, and parts, 960, 966, 882, and 982, means the family and PHA-approved live-in aide.
(Electronic Code of Federal Regulations:)

If you are applying just for yourself, list only your own income and information. The housing authority doesn't need information on the other people in your current living situation if they will not be moving into public housing.
