I had a roommate for over a year in a rental home. We were renting month to month. Recently I bought a house (on my own). My roommate couldn't find a place to live, so I agreed to tell the landlord that I would be staying 6 weeks longer than I actually was, in order that my roommate wouldn't have to move out immediately. (which she agreed to)
Now she wants me to pay half of the last month's rent. Anything I can do?

Who wants you to pay 1/2 of the rent?

You are legally obligated to the landlord for the rent (and actually 100% of the rent) Whether you have a valid argument your roommate would be liable to repay, to you, what you paid to the landord would be based on whatever agreement you and the roommate agreed to.
