I recently moved out of a home I had been renting for 2 years. I have received my deposit refund and a list of deductions in 30 days. However, one of the deductions is paint. It says painting $950 and then it says deduct 25% for wear and tear charging me $712.50 for painting. Is there anything that says deduct 25% for wear and tear and painting? I know there were spots that needed touch up painting but this is for the entire house. The same painter that painted my new place did this paint job for the old place. He told me that all it needed was touch up painting but the new tenants wanted the entire place painted. |
