Helping my friend Bill ...
His lease expires this month. It calls for 60 days notice. He has to move this week because he cannot afford to renew (financial troubles). He keeps delaying giving what notice he can because of panic. I do not have wording of the lease, but it can change over to month-to-month with extra costs. Does this count the same as breaking a lease, where the tenant is responsible for costs only until the landlord gets a new tenant? Does he risk financial obligations beyond loss of the security deposit?
