i live in california, moved into a house from an apt. i have signed a 1 year lease with no terms for overnight guests. these guests come to visit once a year. the landlord doesn't like this. an ammendment to the lease has been made for visitors and overnight guests (in advance in writing). need to know renters' rights.

The landlord has NO right to interfere with your guests....

You can have anyone over you wish, and as often as you wish, as long as there is no law enforcement activity.

Yes the landlord can forbid you to have certain guests if they cause trouble or the police have to be called.

The landlord cannot change the terms of a lease until it expires....PERIOD!

So what is the landlord problem, you live in a house, you dont live upstairs over the landlord who might get upset if you were having sex at 1am.
