I live in san diego ca and my landlord tells me that i cannot have visitors for not even one or weekend just to visit. there is nothing in the lease thats states this. is this fact or is he just trying to change the rules?

You are allowed your privacy and have vistors....and even have people stay over.

If its NOT in the lease the landlord cannot do anything....UNLESS the law is involved, then he can forbid certain people from being on the property, and you would be evicted if it is violated.

The only recourse the landlord has is to NOT offer you a renewal lease.

what's the living situation

What exactly are you renting?

A room in a house that the person owns?
