What is the name of your state? UT

Received a letter from landlord last week billing us for almost $800 for yard work and house cleaning which is absolutely ridiculous because I spent an entire day cleaning, vacuuming, mopping everything. The yard work he did himself 2 weeks before we moved out because he was worried the place wouldn't rent out. But it was mostly grass clippings and leaves. We left that place in very good condition.

he's being very petty saying there were cobwebs, hard water deposits, dirty drip pans, dirt on ceiling fans. Is that fair? Can he charge us for this stuff?

Did you leave cobwebs , dust on ceiling fans , and dirty drip pans on the stove ? Did you take photos of the unit on your last day to show its condition ? see if you disagree with the amount held back or being charged for your move out , you may have to consider filing a claim with small claims court to dispute what was held back . Have you reviewed your state govts web page for links related to landlord tenant laws in your home state ? check there and or search using search engine on your states name (landlord tenant)
