| | | | i live in california,i received a 3day notice to quit on my door because cats were seen in my window. the lease plainly states that you cannot have pets w/out written approval from managment. i have written permission from the mangager to have these cats in my apartment, but that manager was terminated in february and now the owner says that he knew nothing about my permission letter untill i faxed it to him after i received the 3 day notice and that it is void. can i be evicted if I have written permission from the pervious manager? i am also not the only tenant in the build who has received permission to have a cat from this manager.
p.s. the former manager is my mother.

| | | | NO as long as you have signed permission the owner cannot evict you...since at the time the manager is acting on behalf of the owner. ..but then you can be assured he wont renew your lease either!
The fired manager being your mother is not important.
What IS important is that the permission be on company stationary, not just some hand or type written note
