Which year?

What is the name of your state? PA
Good evening, I live in a duplex, my rent is due on the 10th of each month. On the 19th I received a call from my landlord stating there will be a $50 increase starting next month. My lease is from July 1 to July 31. He told me he forgot to give me the letter, concerning the increase when he collected the rent on the 10th.
1) Am I still supposed to pay this increase on June 10th?
2) I thought increases apply to the end of the year, but is that the lease year or calendar year?
I don't mind the increase, I just want to know if it's being done legally. Thanks in advance.

You left out the most important part: what does your lease say about your questions?

July 1 to July 31 lease is either one month or 13 months. A baker's year?

Good morning, my lease says, "The total rent for the lease term is 1yr. Rent is due in advance on the following day of the month July. This lease will renew unless the landlord or the tenant gives 30 days written notice before the ending date of this lease. The landlord or the tenant must give 30 days written notice to end a month to month lease. If the landlord makes any changes, including a rent increas, when renewing this leasem, the landlord must sent the changes to the tenant at least 30days before the end of the lease."

Can you provide a sample letter to write to my landlord? Thanks in advance.

You don't need a sample letter. You can simply pay the rent (WITHOUT THE INCREASE) in June. If you'd like, you can add a note that, "per the lease, if I choose to renew the lease, I will notify you by July 1 (or sooner), and will then pay the increased rent of $x+50."
