Attorney withheld discovery for over a year!

What is the name of your state? NJ

Hi. My attorney withheld discovery from me for over a year! I kept all of the written communications I sent her requesting to see the discovery. Eventually, I copied her boss on these letters and my case was transferred to another attorney.

How do I take action against the attorney for withholding discovery because over a year of litigation took place? Other mishaps include: failing to make objections to statements/actions in the court, failing to require other party to produce evidence, failing to inform me of my rights, failing to meet with me/only met with me once in January 2007 and the case had at least FIVE hearings after January 2007.

Also, what are the attorney responsibilities? i.e. What should I expect from an attorney? What is proper legal representation? Because I need to know how my attorney failed me.

Thanks.

The attorney may be prevented from sharing some discovery with you by court order for a number of reasons.
