The only thing I can think of is that the defendant might have failed in showing the shooting was self-defense. That would have made a difference in sentencing. But it still seems unlikely to me that the gun itself would have helped with the defense.Seriously, The defendant saying I shot you, I am the only one who shot you, is all the jury needs to hear. They do not care whether it was with one gun or two.
An attorney in his area who can personally review the facts of the case is necessary.
