Distribution of Settlement Proceeds

What is the name of your state?NJ
Is there a time limitation on the period in which your attorney must distribute the proceeds of a settlement? Is he/she ethically or legally obligated to release funds in a "reasonable" amount of time? What would be considered reasonable? My case settled 5 months ago and I have not received anything in writing.
