Do you know the name of the lawyer ?

Do you know the name of the insurance company ?
They will tell you the name of the lawyer.

Did you check the state's unclaimed money section ?
If the lawyer couldn't locate his client, s/he should have turned over the money to the state (it escheats to the state).

Do you have any documentation, at all, about the 'wreck' ?
A police report to identify the cause ?
A bill for dr's fees among your mom's paperwork ? (The dr was paid by the lawyer or the ins. co).
A newspaper report stating the names of the parties ?
Any correspondence from the lawyer or the ins co or the dr in your mom's paperwork ?

When you locate the name of the attorney, contact them & if you do not get immediate resolution, contact the Tenn State Bar at:

and advise them of the problem.

If you have any trouble finding out this information on your own, get your own civil attorney or business law attorney or personal injury attorney to look into this for you.
