Help I can't trust my lawyer

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OR
16 months ago my then landlord and employer attacked me for no reason while I slept.
Somehow he managed to get me arrested on an assault charge.
That case was thrown out.
He then called me and spoke in a deranged fashion and I was thrown in jail for harassment.
That case was thrown out.
So far I had spent several thousand on lawyers.

Last April I was charged with trespassing by the same guy, and the state, although I had not seen him since the day in August 07. I am puzzled about the charge.
I got a court appointed lawyer and a court date for Jan 6,09
I have not been able to reach my lawyer for 2 months.

I just came here on vacation from London to see one of my kids graduate from HS and see my folks. I was helping this guy out for a place to stay for a couple months.

I get the feeling that I am being targeted by the DA for some reason.

If I can't see my lawyer before the trial date what do I do?
