What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

We have a wrongful death suit with a lawyer in Illinois. His wife is the administrator of the estate. However, we signed an attorney client agreement with this lawyer to represent us as well. Isn't this a conflict of interest? They said it would be cheaper because we agree on the disbursement.
Could we have gotten more if we had hired our own attorney?
They were only married less than a year. She is getting 50% and loss of consortium. Does this sound right?
His new wife and lawyer are going to be making more money that we will get. What is wrong with this?
He has also told us that we only have to pay 33% for the entire case not the 40% for him filing papers with the court. This was the only conversation I had over the phone; everything else is documented in emails. He now refuses to talk to us about this and the case has refused to talk to us all together. What are our rights? We signed an agreement that states he represents us; doesn't this mean he has to talk to us?
The attorney client agreement we signed also states he was not to settle any part of the case without our consent but he did. He did not notify us of it or ask for our consent. Isn't this a breach of contract?

You should be talking to a banker since your primary concern is how you're going to get your hands on all the money you think you're entitled to. How inconvenient for you that he married again and "deprived" you of that money.
