Judge and lawyer

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

Civil action, retraining order. If judge and the respondent's attorney worked together years earlier, is there a possible ethics violation? The clerk said the judge would throw out the Order but then in court, the jude ruled against me. Also the respondent had an appeal in to have the Order overturned, and then came back to same court that Order was issued for false aligations against me. Something is very wrong but doing this with no lawyer, unemployed and need help if I can appeal the Order being withdrawn or a motion for reconsideration. I've done nothing wrong since the Order was issued against the respondent but the respondent made up lies and came back in and the judge sided with the lies.

No, it is not unethical for a judge to hear a case where one of the parties is represented by a former associate, or even a friend of the judge. Now, if the judge allowed that friendship to unfairly prejudice your case, there would be a huge ethical violation. Or, if he had some financial relationship with that attorney, there would be a huge ethical violation. But the fact that he ruled against you does not in and of itself suggest that he was unfairly prejudiced against you, or gave any inappropriate favors to the opposing party.
