What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado
My child at 15yrs was charged with 1st degree burglary, possession of a handgun and 1st degree theft all felonies. This is his first offense, never been in trouble before or since.
The DA is offering a plea bargain that seems very harsh and only includes forcing the child into being an infornmant. OR, completing an exit interview with miranda rights. His public defender seems to be working with the DA. We are told if he goes to trial and loses it is automatic one year out of home due to it being a crime of violence.
Is this a crime of violence?
Can the child be forced into being an informant?
What does an Exit Interview really mean for the child?
