What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? SC

Is this scenario considered a "malpratice" or ethics situation or anything else?

- Attorney & Client A are partners in Company A (an LLC).
- Client A & Client B are partners in Company B (an LLC).
- Attorney represents Clients A & B in a legal matter regarding Company B without disclosing to Client B his/her business relationship in Company A.

Is this malpractice? An ethics violation? Assuming the Attorney /Client A partnership needs to be disclosed, would that disclosure need to be in writing?

Do your answers change if Company A made monetary gains at the expense of Company B?

It's certainly not malpractice.

As to ethics, are the interests of A & B the same in the litigation regarding Company B?

I'd say more, but want the reason why you'd care first as we don't do homework.
