lawyer obligation in federal court

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana

When the attorney for a defendant in a federal lawsuit discovers his client lied repeatedly to EEOC investigators and directly contradicted those lies on the reply to the filed complaint, and came up with new lies on the complaint answer, does that attorney face sanctions if he continues to prolong the court process? If we end up in court how badly does an attorney want to avoid having his client exposed as having lied repeatedly in the whole process?
