| First of all, the judge will NOT respond to you. The judge is NOT ALLOWED to respond to a party in case that appeared before him/her. Your friend has to request a hearing or file the proper motions.
Second, her attorney for the trial may not be her attorney now. If it was an appointment, the appointment ended after sentencing. So in order to get any other relief, your friend needs to get an attorney or pay this attorney. And this attorney does NOT have to take the case.

Parents should remember three things: Love your kids more than you hate your ex (or soon to be ex) & when you have children the relationship with the other parent is until death parts you & how you treat your children determines what type of nursing home you end up in. Nothing stated by me should be taken as giving you legal advice or forming an attorney/client relationship. The devil is in the details after all.
