Man being railroaded by his own defense atty...HELP!

What is the name of your state?Ohio
A young man has been indicted on a murder charge while there overwhelming evidence to support he is not guilty - including, documented interviews with the mother of child he is accused of beating to death, (who was already in trouble with Children' Services for Neglect) where she has lied repeatedly and even failed a polygraph but his lawyer (public defender) has not spoken to defendant since January 2008, won't accept his phone calls, and most importantly, in the case files that he gave the defendants mother, there is not one page of defense compiled for the defendant. The lawyer will not provide the defendant with a copy of the case files either and he has been requesting them since September of 2007. Can defendant request another public defender?? Need help quickly as he has another court date soon and parents and other family members are not financially able and do not know how to go around this B****** of a lawyer to help their son out of an obvious railroading! Thx

Can you give us a reason why the attorney would "railroad" you if there's "overwhelming" evidence that proves that you're not guilty? You were not indicted by the attorney. What would someone else's motive be in charging you with such a heinous crime in view of evidence proving otherwise?

Not an attorney myself, but I'm struggling with the idea that the attorney gave your mother your case files. Mom obviously told you that there wasn't a single page outlining your defense, however.

I think something is missing, but I know you shoud have taken action in 2007 regarding the files.

I will be honest,Clearly to honest. Some state appointed attorneys can not be trusted as well as one you pay for.
To boot the man above me said it right...."Can you give us a reason why the attorney would "railroad" you if there's "overwhelming" evidence that proves that you're not guilty? And further more,I would fire the attorney if I felt i got railroaded because it is their job to look after your best intrest.....
