What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana
My father is mentally ill and due to a situation that occurred within the family, he decided to seek legal advise. If an individual has more than a 5 minute conversation with him, it is obvious that he is disturbed. I have an issue with this attorney that he hired. Are there any laws that prohibit a lawyer from taking legal fees from a disturbed patient? The lawyer seems to be giving him absurd advise which he takes to heart and believes the law is truly on his side. I really want to know if there are laws against taking a mentally ill client's money or is this just a moral call for the lawyer because if not, this person should be disbarred.
Thanks
