Missrepresentation from a divorce lawyer

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois
My lawyer did not did the best of the interest of my children during the divorce; further he was doing things behind my back with the ex-wife divorce lawyer.
On top of that he is charging me 34000 witch we did not agree; we agree to 20000.
Should I go to the divorce judge or taking to court for misrepresentation? and if I have to take him to court the options are? Can go after his personal properties or his employer first?
Where I can get help from a reputable divorce lawyer that will help me with this problems.

What EXACTLY does the fee agreement state regarding rates and billing? What was he doing behind your back with the other divorce attorney? Why do you believe that YOUR attorney would act in the best interests of the children? What did he do that was incorrect? Is the divorce still open? Why would you go after his personal property?

Nothing stated by me should be taken as giving you legal advice or forming an attorney/client relationship. The devil is in the details after all.

Do NOT go to the judge about this--that is not allowed.

Find the website for the Illinois State Bar Association to see if there have been any previous complaints against the attorney you are using. You may be able to file a complaint with them to help resolve your situation as long as it is not JUST a fee dispute.

You would be wise to at least start interviewing with/talking to other attorneys to find one more willing and able to assist you.

If you had the same difficulty in communicating with your atty that you seem to be having here, the atty is not the one at fault.
