Question

My lawyer is dropping my case after 3 years.

What is the name of your state?California
I was in a car accident in 12/31/02. I was at a stop light and was rear-ended
by a lifted truck. The truck totalled my car and injured my back. I got a lawyer from Fresno to handle my case. I lived in Mendocino county and asked him if the distance would be a problem. His answer was "No, most of the things that are needed to be taken care of can be handled on line, through mail, or over the phone." That has not been the case though. I have not been able to get any good medical help because he doesn't know any of the doctors here. I was scheduled for a deposition on October 7th in San Fransisco. I can not drive that far with my back this way. I had to have someone drive me there. While on the way there my car broke down. I called him and let him know that I couldn't make it because I was broke down on the side of the road. He told me that if I don't get there it was going to cost me thousands of dollars because he had attorneys from all over coming. When I told him I was sorry but there was no way for me to get all the way there anymore he said that if I didn't make it there today I could find myself another lawyer.
Since then he has sent me a letter to sign to take him off the case. I have not signed it and will not until I find other representation. He sent me a letter saying that I need to go to court on the 9th of December so he can get taken off the case as my lawyer. I have a doctors appointment the 16th of December with the Defendants doctor. Plus court dates in Februrary and March of 06 for the settlement, pre trial and trial. I have started epidural injections in my spine. My doctor said I need surgery but they will try these shots first. If they don't work then I'm going to need to go into surgery. I need some advice on what my next steps should be. Possibly how to go about them. I have called lawyers around here and none of them want to take a case that another lawyer started.

Thank You,
Rozaline

What kind of meeting did you lawyer want you to appear at ?
Was it to be reviewed by the other insurance company ?
These type of appointments are very important and if you miss one it can ruin your whole case. What kind of inguries were you diagnosed with ?
What kind of test results from mris or x-rays ?
I wouldnt always trust your doctor they are in it for the money, and most of the time walk away with more then the person who is actually sueing.
