Is it Proper... ?This is taking place in Kentucky. Girlfriend is having some ongoing battles with her EX. She is still waiting on a Qualified Domestic Relations Order for a retirement plan from him and he's been dragging his feet for 3 months, he's waiting on her to sign Quitclaims on the property. She is not going to sign off until she gets the QDRO. (he's got his back against a wall financially with a pregnant mistress... )Onto the question: Her EX went to her lawyers office and discussed all of this with her lawyer, and he is now advising that she sign the Quitclaim based on the fact that the QDRO is in the works, just waiting on the Pension fund company. (yeah ---- riiiight. -ed. comment )( I'm thinking that the EX may have withdrawn funds from the Stocks portion of the retirement fund)Was it proper of her attorney to discuss anything with the EX husband? I'm thinking that it wasn't since she was not present or made aware of it ahead of time. The attorney did not tell her about the conversation until after the fact. The EX is threatening her with contempt even though the Quitclaim items in the property settlement were his responsibility. The attorney could not answer her question to him as to whether or not she could be found in contempt... Thanks in Advance, _mr What is the name of your state? Kentucky |
