Retainer ?

What is the name of your state? Ny

I retained my divorce attorney for a motion filled a few months ago that has since been dismsised. There is aproximately $1200 left on retainer and I sent a request 45 days ago for it to be returned. How do I get this money back? Isn't this money governed under trust laws? Any help would be great. Thanks.

A lawyer must provide a prompt accounting of a retainer. Contact your state bar association; they will in all likelyhood be happy to get involved.
