A settlement

What is the name of your state? AL

When I had to settle out of court on a sexual harrassment case, was the settlement also a contract of settlement with the plaintiff's lawyer? In other words, I might have settled with her , but upon signing the settlement, did I also settle with her lawyer? The reason I ask is because I would like to sue her lawyer for mental distress because I was served a notification of litigation letter to my address that included tons of threats towards me, numerous slanderous accusations about me, and also foul language within that letter that was sent to my address and not opened by me. Shouldn't a letter of this nature be sent by certified letter straight to me for my signature and not just sent in the regular mail??? This very foul and vulgar lawyer letter got into the hands of my receptionist, accountant , and a couple of others BEFORE I was able to read it. My personal business was immediately announced to my workers over this delicate matter. Not only that, at no time was anything proved or disclosed to me to convict me and therefore I find that I should be able to sue the plaintiff's lawyer for mental turmoil, slanderous comments, and distress. I might not be able to approach the plaintiff again but I was wondering if I have a case against her lawyer. BTW, I was innocent of the accusations. I was carelessly directed to settle due to poor and inadequate legal instruction. I am the victim.
