settlement check

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

Nevada

I received a settlement check which my former attorney and my self has to sign off on because he has a lien for his charges.
He also may have a lien for the chiropractor. After I settled with the insurance company, I made arrangements with the chiropractor and other creditors to pay half the bill and the balance off in monthly payments in which he agreed to in writing.
Will this agreement over-ride the lien the attorney has?
This arrangements was made with all my creditors because I was forced to settle for less than the amount of my bill because the insurance company had gone out of business. It was this or nothing.

Ask your lawyer.

If he says his lien is first, then ask him to put in the settlement papers/release/receipt a state statute, attorney general's opinion, disciplinary counsel opinion, rule, regulation, some authority that what he is telling you is true.
