What is the name of your state? California

My son was picked up for arson and jailed because, unfortunately, he was walking late at night. He was released after 7 days. Charges were dropped. However, his name and age was linked to the arson crime in both local newspaper and tv news while he was in jail. He had only been a suspect. Does he have any legal recourse regarding his identity publicly linked to a crime he did not commit and before it was fully investigated? This has destroyed his relationship with some new fellow business partners.(only U.S. law).
