My company has been faced with unreasonable billing by our corporate lawyer for time spent on legal documentation reviews. The time spent appears double-charged, exaggerated and unreasonable given the level of work done. When questioned on the detailed items and specific agreements, the law firm cannot justify the time, refuses to do so and is now proposing a reduced settlement amount, however this proposed amount is still unreasonable. What can be done in this case to challenge the billing further and what are our rights without incurring any more legal cost? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

No one is going to be able to help you due to the fact that you did not answer the MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION.

With this being the only post by the original poster, what IS the most important question that he didn't answer?

Would it be worth it to you to have a consultation with a different, new attorney (will you be needing one in the future) who practices a similar type of law? What were you billed for and what is the reduced settlement amount?
