A unusual question

What is the name of your state? ca

We filed an adversary claim against our bankruptcy attorney in bankruptcy court. The case stemmed from his delay in filing our case and subsequent bumblings by him and his staff. We prevailed and received an award. Does the filing of the adversary case in federal court preclude us from filing a malpractice case in state court?
